DUTCH OLIEBOLLEN

2 1/2 cups flour
4 tsp baking powder
1 tsp salt
3/4 cup sugar
1 tsp cinnamon
4 Tbsp corn oil
2 eggs
1 cup milk
1 tsp vanilla
1 medium apple, chopped
1/2 cup raisins
1/2 cup currants

    Mix dry ingredients.  Add other ingredients and blend.  Drop by teaspoon into hot oil at about 325 degrees, and cook until golden brown.  Do not make too large or centers will not be done.  Place on absorbent paper and roll in powdered sugar.  Makes approximately three dozen.
